Ivan Vujačić  professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Beograd and professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Beograd (retired). He has taught Principles of Economics, Comparative Economic Systems, The Economics of European Integration. He was a visiting professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Beograd where he taught Comparative Economic Systems, International Economics and a master’s course on the US economic system.

He teaches International Political Economy to students of Clemson University in the semester abroad program in Beograd. He is one of the organizers (and lecturers) of a summer school program  with Northeastern University (Boston) and the Faculty of Economics in Beograd. 

He is a member of the presidency of both the Serbian Association of Economists (SES) and the Serbian Scientific Society  of Economists (NDES).

He was president of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Serbia (2022-2025). He was on a Fulbright scholarship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1983/1984 (Ph.D. program).

He is a member of the Harvard Club in Serbia.

He is member of the European Association for Comparative Economics Studies and was a member of the Executive Board (2014-2016).

He is the president of the Board of the Zoran Đinđić Foundation (since 2025).

He was  president of the Forum of International Affairs of the European Movement in  Serbia (2019-2024).

He was a member  of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Beograd ( 2011-2015). 

He was an independent member of the Board of Eurobank in Beograd (2010-2021).

He was a member of the Federal Parliament of Yugoslavia between 1992-1996 for the Democratic Party and the Faction leader between 1994-1996. He held other important posts in the party and is currently a member of its Political Council and member of the Main Committee of the Democratic Party.

He served as Ambassador to the United States between 2002 and 2009.

He is the editor (and contributor) of the forthcoming  book to be published by Palgrave /`Macmillan  - The Post-Socialist Transition of Serbia: Economic Transition, Democracy and EU Integration  (June 2026)
