In line with the need that the domestic economists, by using appropriate theoretic and methodological empirical studies, draw attention of the institutional infrastructure and economic policy makers to the key aspects of establishing an incentivizing business environment in the Republic of Serbia (RS), essential for achieving sustainable economic growth and development, the 16th Scientific Meeting of national relevance, titled Institutional Changes as a Determinant of the Republic of Serbia‘s Economic Development, was held on April 6th 2017 at the Faculty of Economics of the University in Kragujevac. The convention was organized by the Faculty of Economics of the University in Kragujevac, in cooperation with the SAE.

The Meeting started off with four introductory papers, and thirty-seven participants coming from faculties of economics in Kragujevac, Belgrade, Niš and Priština, whose head office is in Kosovska Mitrovica, from the Ministry of Economy, the Fiscal Council and researchers from other science and education institutions, produced twenty-one paper.

The papers presented during this scientific Meeting and the derived discussions resulted in relevant both scientific and practical implications for future institutional solutions in RS. The papers presented at the 16th scientific Meeting are to be published in the proceedings titled “Institutional Changes as a Determinant of the Republic of Serbia’s Economic Development”, which would make them available both to scientific and professional community and to institution and economic policy makers in RS. Organization of the Scientific Meeting Institutional Changes as a Determinant of the Republic of Serbia’s Economic Development was financially supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.
