The Serbian Association of Economists has awarded the Certificate for Outstanding Contributions to the Business Economy and Management to the Chairman of the Managing Board of Delta Holding, Miroslav Mišković.

"By awarding the Certificate for Outstanding Contributions, the Serbian Association of Economists aims, in line with its primary objectives, to contribute to popularization of economics and the economic profession, as well as to the affirmation of individuals and to the promotion of achievements made in the field of economics. Mr. Mišković is undoubtedly one of the pioneers of entrepreneurship in Serbia who has for more than 30 years been building, together with his team, the most successful private corporation in the region. Despite numerous challenges and crises that the entire economy and society faced, Delta Holding continued to grow and develop. It is particularly important to emphasize the company's social responsibility awareness. Since it was founded to this very day, the Delta Foundation, founded by Mr. Mišković, has invested several dozens of millions of euros in socially responsible projects", President of the Serbian Association of Economists, Aleksandar Vlahović, said.

During the award ceremony at the Serbian Association of Economists, the Chairman of the MB of Delta Holding emphasized the underrated position of business and entrepreneurs in our society's mindset.

"I have rarely received awards during my career. I am happy to receive this recognition, because it comes from people who are in the economic profession. This Certificate is also important because business people are one of the most undervalued groups in our entire history", Miroslav Mišković said during the award ceremony, inviting the community to change its position towards business, i.e., entrepreneurship. "Entrepreneurship is not appreciated here, in our culture. Being a businessman is virtually offensive. If someone is said to do business in trade, it is almost the same as if they were thieves. An employer is someone who exploits their employees and a private business owner is someone who swindles the state. Let us talk more about what business really is and why it is important for progress of any society. This is the only way to create new generations of entrepreneurs, and they will repay the society multiple times. This is the simple economic truth, and it is our duty to disseminate this truth", Mišković said.
